Lavva Raspberry Yogurt

We’re always looking for new vegan yogurts and were happy to discover Lavva, whose label boasts of no added sugar.

With 6 grams of sugar per serving, Lavva has about half the amount of sugar of other vegan yogurts, but it does have a lot more fat (11 grams), thanks to the coconut base.

However, the lack of sugar obviously does result in a less sweet product; this yogurt (which we tried in raspberry; it’s also available in vanilla, pineapple, blueberry, strawberry, mango, and plain) is a bit sour and didn’t taste especially like raspberry. It reminded us of Cocoyo, another coconut-based, low-sugar vegan yogurt.

If you like a tangy yogurt and are watching your sugar intake, this is a great option. For those who may find it a bit too sour, it would likely be great in a smoothie. As ever, it’s wonderful to see yet another vegan yogurt option at the local food co-op!
