As always, it was great to see a new vegan item at Trader Joe’s: Seasoned Kale Chips.
I’m sure I’m not the only one whose favorite way to eat kale is via crispy snacks. So, I was eager to try these in an attempt to be healthy and virtuous while also reporting on a new product for this blog. It was worth it.
These kale chips are not a substitute for a snack like potato chips or Hippeas, but they are tasty. They are savory thanks to being made with cashew butter and tahini, and they have a lovely crunch. However, most of the product was in tiny pieces (flakes, really) in the bag, and so these kale chips cannot be eaten by the handful. Most of my bag ended up sprinkled over soup and salad (not that there’s anything wrong with that).
So if you’re up for a wholesome snack and not fussy about crumbles, give these a try. They’ll never replace a potato chip, but they’re a fun alternative when you’re trying to snack healthily.
