One of our best discoveries this year is Maya’s Cookies. Maya’s is located in San Diego, but cookies can be shipped anywhere in the U.S.
Our cookies took about a week to arrive, and were they ever worth it! The packaging is adorable (and both boxes and paper confetti can be recycled as cat toys), and while the plastic wrapping isn’t ideal, it does keep the cookies fresh and makes them sharable during a pandemic, which is a wonderful thing.
We sampled four flavors to start —Chocolate Funfetti, White Chocolate Macadamia, Birthday Cake, Classic Chocolate Chip — and there are so many flavors to go. Maya’s even offers Collections (such as “The Motherload” and the “Ultimate Cookie Lovers Collection”). Here’s a little more about Maya and her inspiration, from her website:
Founded in 2015 by Maya Madsen, Maya’s Cookies is America’s #1 Black-Owned Gourmet Vegan Cookie Company. As a vegan with a sweet tooth, she had not been able to find that perfectly delicious, soft-baked gourmet vegan cookie, so she spent years crafting her award-winning and crowd-pleasing recipes. From the classic to unique and forward-thinking flavors such as “Chocolate Chip S’mores” and “Marble Fudge,” every flavor has a story grounded in Maya’s travels, memories, and experiences.
Each of the flavors we sampled was delicious; the Classic Chocolate Chip was a favorite, and Birthday Cake is the best vegan sugar cookie we’ve ever had. Chocolate Funfetti is great for any chocoholic, and White Chocolate Macadamia is simply sublime: rich, sugary, and completely indulgent.
With the beautiful packaging, these cookies make a wonderful gift … for yourself, or others! We look forward to sharing these beautiful creations this holiday season.
