We are always up for vegan cookies, and it was fun to find Lenny & Larry’s in chocolate chip as well as double chocolate.
These “cookies” are not so much cookies as nutritional bars; per serving, they have 8 grams of protein, 5 grams of fiber, and of course, being vegan, they’re cholesterol free! Yet the serving size is only half a cookie (as if!), and they taste far too healthy to be called cookies.
While we found these to be lacking as cookies (they are simply not fatty or sugary or delectable enough), if we thought of them as energy bars, they tasted much better, and we heartily approve. In fact, if you eat a whole cookie as a snack, that’s a whopping 16 grams of protein, 10 grams of fiber, and 420 calories. It’s exactly what we need on long hikes and late-afternoon workdays.
So, if you think of these not as cookies but as nutritional products, they’re quite good. But if you like your cookies sweet, sugary, and delicious, try Partake or Maya’s cookies instead.
