Vegan dining in Amsterdam: Vegan Temple Bar

Vegan Temple Bar is a sweet little restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating, and it was busy even early on a Monday evening — once we sampled the food, it was clear why.

In addition to wine and beer, we had vegan chicken Alfredo and the BBQ chicken burger with fries and mayo on the side for dipping. Both meals were excellent — and very filling, but it is very, very (very) important to save room for dessert: vegan versions of classic Dutch sweets.

With limited room left, we chose the vegan stroopwaffel to share, and it was definitely enough for two: a large plate of waffles drizzled with dark chocolate and powdered sugar, served with strawberries, blueberries, and a giant dollop of whipped cream. We wished we had another week or two in Amsterdam just to be able to return to try everything on the Vegan Temple Bar menu.
